Wild Bear Safari is a locally owned and operated tour company in Hoonah, Alaska. We offer personalized land based nature and bear viewing tours on the majestic Chichagof island. 

Leave your ship in Icy Strait and head to The “Excursion Hub” just a short walk from the dock. I will be there with a smile to meet you.

First, in our small group, I will show you our sleepy Alaskan fishing village. Then we will head out on the back roads, in remote country on the hunt for Bear. We will troll the bridges over salmon streams, check out beaches, berry patches and if the group is up for it we will hike one of my favorite forest trails – Oh, and by hike I mean an easy and pleasant jaunt. The goal is to view our bears at a safe distance feeding on salmon, wild berries, or just lumbering through the forest. 

Tour times can range from 3-4 hours depending on your schedule. While we bear search, I will inform our awesome group about bear safety, the history of the indigenous people, and about our beautiful surroundings. I have stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
